AGRICULTURAL TOUR – VISIT RURAL ALENTEJO (PORTUGAL), JUNE 1-3, 2018

The Zug Commodity Association (ZCA) is pleased to inform you about an upcoming 3-day trip which will give you insights into the agriculture sector in the region of Alentejo as well as the rich culture of Portugal.

The trip is organized by the Commodity Club and will bring you on the very particular Quinta do Quetzal terroir and a guided tour will walk you through the Quinta do Quetzal vineyards and its modern wineries. After a visit to the Quetzal Art Centre, modern Alentejan food will be served paired with the Estate wines in the Quetzal restaurant.
In Ferreira do Alentejo you will visit a SOVENA olive mill that has a grinding capacity of more than 11’300 tonnes of olives per day.
A walk in a Cork Forest, where you will have the opportunity to see the unique process of the manual outer back tree stripping, will be followed by a visit to a Hoogwegt group NL dairy farm with 1’250 dairy cows in Évora.
During the trip, you will also see some of the most impressive cultural sites of the region, among which the historic centre of Évora, world heritage by UNESCO since 1986.
Two-nights accommodation will be in Évora at the Luxury Collection Hotel&Spa Convento do Espinheiro, a 15th-century convent considered national monument.
